5 Card Stud can be played in all limits - Fixed Limit, No Limit or Pot Limit – and most often incurs ‘Ante’ and ‘Bring-In’ bets, taking the place of ‘Blind Bets’ found in Hold’em style poker games. Players receive a total of 5 cards each, hence the name 5 Card Stud. The first card is place faced down, followed by 4 more cards placed face up as the game progresses. The player with the highest ranking 5-card poker hand at the end of the game wins the pot.
