

7 Card Stud is today regarded as one of the most popular forms of poker. Stud poker was originally played with 5 cards but to make things more interesting and at the same time increase the size of the pot two (i.e more betting rounds) extra cards were added resulting in the 7 Card Stud game. 7 Card Stud quickly outgrew the 5 card variant in popularity and is today a very popular poker game.
There are a lot’s of 7 Card Stud games and tournaments around the world. Regardless if you play online or live there is always some game or tournament to be played.
To play 7 Card Stud succesfully you must (like most other games) study carefully. Here, in our poker school, you can learn the fundamentals of 7 Card Stud and quite quickly build game play which is stable and profitable. Naturally we can´t guarantee any winnings but after studying the chapters below (and also reading some of the books we recommend) we are sure you will be off to a good start.

Rules

Starting hands
Patience is probably the most important characteristic of a good 7 card stud player. You must have the patients to wait for good starting hands. We recommend that you play tight and by that we mean few starting hands. See the menu button “Starting hands” for more information.
Strategy
In this strategy chapter we have summarized what we think are the most important things to consider when playing. This chapter is aimed to give you a quick understanding of 7 card stud so that you can find a game that works for you. That said, we still think that reading a few books is a good idea before perusing the higher limits of the game.

Your probably wondering what HORSE stands for? HORSE is a fast growing variant of poker which is mainly played in tournaments. In HORSE a number of different poker variations are played and therefore it is often the most all round poker players that play this game.
