Poker tournaments are undoubtedly one of the greatest forms of the poker. As you might have seen on TV, the tension and excitement in big poker tournaments is hard to beat. Imagine sitting down and playing one evening for a million dollars. Like in all poker games, becoming a good tournament player requires practice and patience.
In this tournament school we go through the basics. Naturally we can´t guarantee any winnings but if you learn what we teach we think you will be off to a good start. Apart from studying our tournament school we also suggest some books on the subject. You can find some books on the subject here in our reading strategy. The books by Dan Harrington are invaluable when it comes to tournaments.
Our poker school is divided into five chapters, Rules, Starting hands, Strategy, Zoneplay and The final table. We recommend you study all chapters before playing.
Rules
First and foremost you must learn the rules.
Starting hands
Playing the right starting hands is an important part of your overall strategy
Strategy
In this chapter we look upon what strategy you should use depending on what type of tournament your playing.
Zoneplay
As the blinds increase it´s important to adjust play (sometimes just to stay alive). Depending on how many chips you have in comparison to the blinds your play can change radically. This is called zoneplay and is explained in this chapter.
The final table
In this chapter we explain adjustments and what things to consider when you have reached the final tabel.
